Like in movies, when the evil person lives in this run-down house that everyone is scared of. Do they enjoy living there? Do they realize they could, like, clean the place up a bit? Maybe open the curtains and a window and let a little air and light in?
I'm sure it smells terrible.
What kind of vibe are they trying to put out? Scary? Why is ugly and smelly scary? There are plenty of other things that are pristine and beautiful that might be even scarier. If you haven't seen Get Out, this would be a good time. Also, Stepford Wives.
Let's stop basing spookiness off of "dirty" aesthetic and base it on whether they're doing spooky shit or not.
My point is, do people realize the energy and feeling they put out into the world?
We've been conditioned with this idea that as individuals, we can do whatever the fuck we want whether someone else likes it or not. This is what we call "Freedom" in this part of the world. But the thing is, we don't live by ourselves. We don't inhabit this world by ourselves. Anything we want to do will have repercussions on other people. Good or bad. So you can never consider that just because you do something with no intention of it affecting anyone else that it won't actually affect anyone else.
That's impossible.
The only way that would be possible is if you were the only person on the planet. And if you ask Will Smith, that probably sucks. I'm not just referring to the lack of sex part. That would be really bad. I always think of those dudes in movies who spend decades or hundreds of years alone, and I'm like:
What did they masturbate to?
Did they even masturbate?
Did they spend all that time without any sexual satisfaction at all?
I get it. Survival comes first. Sometimes you can't think of anything else.
But, I mean….at some point or another, they had to get that feeling, you know the one…
What happened between Tom Hanks and Wilson that he grew so attached?
What was this email about again?
"I don't like dwarves. They're greedy and blind. Blind to the lives of those they deem lesser than their own." - Beorn
"But I hate orcs more." - Also Beorn (immediately after)
Those quotes remind me of an incredible piece of writing from the golden age of cinema with one of its premiere movies: Austin Powers in Goldmember
"If there are two things I can't stand in this world, it's people who are inconsiderate of other peoples' cultures, and a Dutch!" - Nigel Powers
A lot of people sound like that, and you're hilarious.
"I don't like to do this thing they're saying I need to do for the benefit of everyone because it feels like oppression like what they did with racism. But also don't teach kids about racism in schools, please."
I don't know what you should take from this writing. A lot is going on here. But if you choose one thing, remember: You're not alone in this world, no matter how much you wish you were. And all the decisions you make have consequences one way or the other.
PS
idk if you know, but in the iAmLegend book the big twist at some point is that the zombies that the protagonist is fighting against actually see him as the evil one while they’re just trying to survive. hence, He is the legend they talk about. the one they’re scared of. food for thought…
